A Summer Experience Found Only in Kibune

Summer in Kyoto is often known for its heat.

But for centuries, Kyoto people have embraced summer differently.

They seek "ryo" (涼), a sense of coolness that refreshes not only the body, but also the mind.

In Kibune, surrounded by clear mountain streams and lush forests, we invite you to experience this uniquely Japanese way of appreciating summer.

Weather Policy

As this experience takes place on a riverside kawadoko platform surrounded by nature, weather conditions are an important part of the experience.

If fair weather is forecast one day before the experience, the Kibune Riverside Tea Experience will take place as scheduled.

If rain is forecast in advance, the kawadoko platform may not be available. In this case, we can offer you a private tea ceremony at our traditional tea space in Kyoto City instead, at our standard private tea ceremony rate.

In the event of an unexpected sudden rainstorm after your Kibune experience has begun, we will move indoors and continue the tea experience safely.

As the kawadoko venue and arrangements will already have been prepared exclusively for your group, the original experience price will apply.

Payment & Cancellation

Payment is requested one day before the experience, after the weather forecast and venue availability have been confirmed.

A secure online payment link will be sent directly to you.

Your reservation will be officially confirmed once payment has been completed.

Once payment has been completed, the reservation is non-refundable and a 100% cancellation fee will apply.
